Are you looking for a nice and quiet place near Barcelona? Sitges is a small town located next to the Mediterranean Sea, and has a lot to offer. Need some sun? Well, Sitges is once again the answer, with 300 days of sunshine a year. In case you're wondering what to do on any of these sunny days, you should know that Sitges has 17 wonderful beaches. Here are some of our favorites. 

Balmins Beach

This beach has three small coves that are located between the port and the town center. Balmins beach is mostly nudist, especially the area closest to the port. The width of this beach can vary every year due to winter storms. It has all the necessary services: lifeguard, parasols, sun loungers, access ramp for wheelchair users, etc.

Sant Sebastià beach

Sant Sebastià beach is a small urban beach perfect for families, located east of the church of Sitges, between the old town and the marina. This beach has all the necessary services, including a ramp for wheelchair access.

Fragata Beach

Like Sant Sebastià beach, this is a small urban beach. The Nautical Club is on this beach and there are also volleyball nets and soccer fields. That's why the Fragata is considered a sports beach, and several competitions take place here every year. You won't find parasols or sun loungers for rent, but you will find lifeguards, showers, a beach bar and an access ramp.

La Ribera Beach

La Ribera beach is one of the largest beaches in Sitges and also one of the busiest. This urban beach is very close to the town center and has all the services you may need during a day at the beach.

Bassa Rodona Beach

The beach of Bassa Rodona is located between the beach of La Ribera and the beach of Estanyol. It has all the necessary services and also has the Club de Mar for water sports, such as sailing. This is one of the main gay beaches of Sitges and is one of the most popular as well. 

Estanyol Beach

The Estanyol is a long beach located in front of the residential area of El Vinyet. It has all the services: parasols, parking, lifeguard, showers, access ramp, toilets and more.

Riera Xica Beach

Another long beach, just as the Estanyol, although this one is narrower. It is also in front of the area of El Vinyet. It has two beach bars, parasols, sun loungers and other similar products available for rent. 

Barra Beach

Barra beach is a large urban beach and perfect for families. Like the others, it has an access ramp for wheelchairs and also has a lifeguard, a beach bar and rental of canopies, parasols and sun loungers.

Les Anquines Beach

To the west, you can find the beach of Les Anquines. It is a small and secluded beach, flanked by breakwaters. The calm waters are perfect for children to play and swim. This beach has all the usual services: beach bar, lifeguard, sun loungers, parasols, etc.

Home Mort Beach

A small nudist beach, popular with the gay public. In fact, it is two beaches in one: Home Mort and the beach of Roses. It is difficult to access, as it is surrounded by cliffs, behind the Atlantida discotheque. Unlike the other beaches, this one does not have sand, it has stones. Due to its location, you will not find the services that you normally find in the rest of the beaches.
